I’ve known Amrita (Life Ki Recipe) and Shivesh (Bake With Shivesh) for a while now and I love their passion, love for food and all things good. So when they asked me for some cakes and cookies for a food styling workshop that they were planning I was most happy to bake for them. The icing on the cake was that the workshop was at Blue Tokai – a brand of coffee roasters who I have grown to respect tremendously. I’ve in the past hung out at their cafe over various meetings and watch them roast their beans as I sat there inhaling the delicious aromas of what I think is some of the best coffee available in this city. So to cut the long story short, I happily went to attend this food styling class with my bakes on perfect rainy day (read perfect coffee drinking day).

As a baker who is constantly putting her stuff out on social media, I was pretty happy with the tips and techniques that Shivesh and Amrita shared. But, the best part of the workshop was the hands-on project that they gave us to work on after they had theoretically explained what makes for a good shot. To help us understand photography better there was Assad who is amazing with the camera and he spoke to us about the role of light and angle; much needed for me.

Blue Tokai made the day even nicer by offering us a lot of coffee and a lovely sampler bag as well as a take away. Seriously, more power to them. They do have the best beans in town.
